Synopsis:

As Ann Grant (Redgrave) nears the end of her life, she confesses to her daughters (Collette and Richardson) the story of a weekend 50 years earlier when she met the one true love of her life. In those two days of passion, Ann (played as a young woman by Danes) learns that the choices we make often lead to unspeakable joys and even to unbearable tragedies, but always to the twists of fate that shape the story of our lives. As the daughters piece together this extraordinary story of their mother’s past and present, it brings them all together in a way none of them could ever have imagined.
